Answering Advisor Questions: “Are paid social media ads worth it?”

In this new series, I’ll take a question about marketing or lead generation from a financial advisor, professional, or business owner and answer it on-air.

Today, a client of mine asks, “Are paid social media ads worth it?”

Great question, as it’s far too easy to sink hundreds or even thousands of dollars into Facebook, Google, or LinkedIn ads every month…and get little or no result.

But the good news is that IF you do them correctly, they can be a boon for your business. That means not expecting someone to see your ad and click immediately, ready to turn over their nest egg and trust you with their entire financial future just because they saw you online.

Instead, social media ads are a “top of the funnel” tool to bring in large numbers at the start of the multi-step process of gaining awareness, credibility, trust, and even likeability, leading to a new client as you tighten, enhance, and refine that relationship with other tools or processes.

So, if you have the right follow up system, email campaigns, giveaways, landing page, the right video assets, etc. in place, social media ads are a fantastic way to fish in the ocean with a huge net instead of a pond with a single hook.

I hope you get something out of this answer. And for a more in-depth look at the strategy behind asking for (and receiving) referrals, check out these videos:
